ACR MR QA phantom: ACR (American College of Radiology) MR QA phantom has a cylindrical external shape with 150 mm length and 192 mm diameter. The phantom is filled with solution (15 mmol NiCl2 and 15 mmol NaCl) to simulate the conductivity of human body. Because the small size of the phantom, it can be scanned using the MR head coil. Localiser, T1 and T2 axial images are suggested by the ACR documentation for machine QA purpose. The phantom has been used in many centres around the world and the QA process has been fully documented. The detailed scan parameters were given here. The complete QA protocol and the recommended scanner QA criteria is stated here

MagIQ phantom: MagIQ phantom was developed by the Leeds Test Objects Ltd from Boroughbridge, England. The phantom was wonderfully designed for several MR QA tests, such as geometric distortion, intensity properties, fat suppression, artefact, slice profiles and etc., using only one phantom. Information about this phantom can be found here

Magphan (R) phantom (SMR170): Magphan (R) phantom is in cylindrical shape with similar size as the ACR MR QA phantom. The phantom was developed by a fantastic well-known company named the Phantom Laboratory, who designs not only MR QA phantom but also CT QA phantom and other medical equipment products. The Magphan (R) phantom can also be used for various MR QA purposes and details can be found here

Catphan (R) 600 phantom: Catphan (R) 600 phantom was designed by the Phantom Laboratory and it can be used for CT or CBCT QA purposes. Details of this phantom can be found here
